Mitch gets two tonight!

Recommended Posts

I finally got a chance to hunt with Mit tonight and we started off so well that I'll even be able to get to bed at a decent hour. I've got to pick up a couple last minute things for Christmas tomorrow morning and at 10, a friend of mine who used to shoot competition and reloads is going to show me how to do it and reload some of Mits 223 bullets for me. Always wanted to get into it but with the cost of shells these days a guy almost has too. Especially for my 17 Remingtons.

We only hit 3 spots tonight and Mitch was able to shoot one at the first two. Small female pup at the first and a nice male at the second. He was using the Prarie Storm #4 at the first spot and we had to track the little one about 20 yards through the woods to find it. No snow and no blood made it tough but luckily it layed down before it passed and was facing us with her head resting on a branch. Mitch picked up the eyes and I walked up on her but she had already passed. Got real lucky with that one so he switched over to #4 buck for the second set and crumpled the nice male.

I'm not sure if we should switch back to the Prairie Storm or stick with the buck shot. I guess if the furbuyer doesn't dock me it doesn't matter.

I think we're going to head out tonight quite a bit farther from home and I've got high hopes for this location. Here's Mits two fox. #3 and#4 for him this year.
