New Otter Thermal

Does anyone know what the new Otter thermals are made of. I have read so much about the NorpacR2 that Canvas Craft uses, I was wondering if this is the same material that Otter is using on there new portables.

I would ask Otter, but they do not seem interested in answering there e-mails.

The other question I have is if the new cabin will fit on the new style bar system, or if they had to redesign the pole system

otter not answering emails?? yeah i know.. bought xt900 out of the box there was extra grey material sticking out between the seem on black roof.. then it was cut off.. looks pretty tacky.. contacted otter said file warranty, 2 calls later and 2 emails no response other than when its reviewed we will contact you.. 5 weeks later still no answer..never did answer email i sent... sorry didnt mean to highjack the thread.. disapointed in customer service..BUT LOVE MY XT900. just waiting for relacement skin

I'm not sure what Otter is using but its not the same as the CC Thinsulate. I own a CC and insulated Otter and the CC thinsulate is much thicker. I took a sample of each and the CC measured in at 8.11 mm and the Otter 2.27 mm. If it ever gets cold out I'm going to do a side by side test with each house.

The otters are using cheaper China products. Not even close to the Canvas Craft Norpac/thinsulate material.

I have the new Otter thermal Cottage and love it, but I have to say that compared to my buddy who has the new Canvas Craft there is a real difference between the two. The thermal shell on the Canvas Craft seems much more robust and not mass produced. You can't go wrong wit either, but if you want what I believe is the industry best thermal CC is the way to go if you have a few extra bucks.

Tested out my new Otter Cabin Thermal today and heated it with a single mantle lantern! and to go with it couldnt even notice the 15 mph wind there was out there. One of the best fish houses ever produced. The best part to got it for $580
