EVERY PART of the Throne Bros Power Noodle and all of our fiberglass blanks are made in the USA. The material is made here, the blanks are turned here and we build on the blanks here. Not sure where you're getting your info from but please refrain from misleading the public. Thorne Bros ice rod blanks are 100% USA MADE. Thanks.

I know the maker of these rods. They are good stuff. Slightly different than the tb noodle. More back bone.

Thanks Chris.. I just wanted to chime in here. Our "Al Dente" noodle rod was in fact modeled directly after the TB power noodle.. why? because there really is nothing better for the avid "tip watcher" and to be frank, I as a custom rod builder got sick of seeing all my friends showing up to the spot with a power noodle.. HAHA Tha said, this is is in no way a TB vs DH post as I truly believe that both are of extremely high quality and will help you catch more fish, and we are honored to have been asked to put them in thier store. As for the weight, both blanks weigh exactly the same (to the gram) both are solid fiberglass, both are 5.5mm butt and 1.0mm tip, both can be made with a variety of guide types.. the ONLY differences are that I moved the kick point on the "Al Dente" up about an inch. this was done so that we still get the benefits of the noodle tip but it gets to the hookset a little quicker. We feel that this was needed for ours. Better or not, it's personal preference. The reception of our noodle has been great, we have quite a few people using them already and feedback is excellent.

We have a 28", a 24" and a "Mini Bite" that is 21" and has a 3" palm sized cork handle. The 24" and 28" are available at Thorne Bros. and All 3 noodles are available at Vado's.

We also make a variety of graphite rods and again, anything can be built.

Andy, for that very reason I ordered one direct from DHcustom. I had them put the rec guides on it which will take care of the small top guide problem. The biggest thing holding my order up was the fact that the rec guides won't get shipped until Tuesday. So far the turnaround time seems very quick for DH. I'm excited to use the new rod.

The picked up the 24" noodle from TB over the weekend. I am very happy with it but I would had liked the guide rings to be larger? This creates a problem for me hole hoping.

Guys, thanks for the feedback.. I do realize that the tip guide is a little small on our standard models but we did that for the lightweight benefits more than anything.. I have used all typed of rods and regardless of guide size there will always be freeze up issues.. even the biggest of guides will freeze up as I am sure you've all experienced.... That said, if anyone wants a larger guide setup we can accomidate with either a REC recoil guide, OR i also like to use a Titan ring lock guide that does not bend like the recoil BUT is just as light with a titanium frame. (both REC and Titan guides would be at an additional cost) OR even the use of an alconite guide with a larger ring towards the tip for the same price.. Always keep in mind that the added weight will affect the 1.0mm tip and feel a little more "Clubish" if you get what I mean.

Thanks guys, and we will take your calls over the phone if you have particular needs.

Happy Holidays, DH

I have a feeling you are going to sell a ton of these with TB's noodle in short supply. I'm looking to pick one up as I have wanted another noodle rod for a while.

Only question is should I get the orange (the color I know) or the green?

Also, love that the 28" is standard.

"Highway Safety Zone" is the color; Rock On and a "Amen To That Brother"

As for the tip colors.. We chose Pantone 805 (Neon Orange/Red) AND Pantone 802 Neon Green.. What we do to really set off the tip and help focus you on the bite is we tip wrap all of our "Al Dente" noodles with a contrasting neon thread color.. it looks like a bobber in that it stands out quite a bit. the first and second guide are on the colored area and are both wrapped with the contrasting neon thread.. Orange tip has a Neon Chartreuse thread.. Green has a Neon Orange thread. Both highly visible, but Orange seems to be a favorite.

Again, any questions please feel free to ask..

Thanks, DH

Thank you dusty for the great information and help you gave me over the phone on Friday. I ordered up an El Dente and a Perch Pounder with the St.Croix spring bobber tip. Awesome turn around. I'm going to pick up my rods Monday early afternoon and be on Red Tues Afternoon. Now that's customer service!!!! I'll let you know how the rods perform but I'm sure they will be awesome. I am also a big fan of buying local so hats off to DH Rods..

Put my order in today, and it should be shipped out Friday. I am really excited to get this one on the ice.

I also had (don't ask!!) a Thorne Power Noodle with the recoil guides and I will be sure to post back how this compares. I think it will be an awesome deeper water rod with the "kick point" moved up a little. Hopefully it will still be able to "pound" as well as the TB rods.

But like I said above, I'm really excited to try out a DH rod, and I imagine they are going to sell quite a few of them this winter.

    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
