insulated water jug as a minnow bucket?

I am thinking about what to do for an on the ice minnow bucket, and was in Target today and was thinking that one of those 1/2 - 1 gallon insulated water jugs with the screw on tops would make a great minnow bucket.

Seems to be the same thing Clam is selling this year, but without the case. These things wouldn't leak, and would be insulated enough to keep from freezing up on the ice.

Anyone using a water jug for a minnow bucket?

I'm with the Twins 57 Fan. I've been looking for these rectangle ones for awhile but couldn't find them at any local stores. Of course the one place that will probably have them will be Mills Fleet Farm. After all the gas I've spent looking I could have just ordered one online.

...screw them baitbuckets that leak and splash water. You'll learn quick if you try to haul a standard bait bucket in your portable attached to a snowmobile lol.

That's why I use a plastic Folders coffee can. Lid snaps on 100% watertight. I spend enough $$ on other fishing stuff.

I use one exactly as in the picture. Have for years. Works great. Yes, the lid will freeze occasionally, but have had no issues getting it to open (a bit of effort or a few seconds in front of the heater). Very durable and keeps the bait great as long as you don't overcrowd the bait.
