Northland Jigs Review

when I was out fishing yesterday I had the hook on 6 northland jigs straighten out while fishing sunnies. Two of them were tungsten jigs and the other 4 were all size 10 hexi flys. I'm just wondering if you guys have had any problems with these jigs. I really love the jigs when they are working but its going to get real spendy going through jigs like this

I have the same problems with their Vegas Glitter Jigs. Any medium sized fish will straighten the hook. Love the jigs but hate the quality - very surprising coming from Northland.

I would contact Northland, I can't believe this is how the product is supposed to work. Maybe they will give you some new jigs that work.

I have emailed Northland in the past about a brand new jig that had its hook break clean off on a hookset. I never received a response and now avoid buying Northland tackle when possible.

I have read alot on hear about Lindygs darter, slick jig, and rattlin flyers for ice fishing, so that is where my $ is going and if all goes well for open water next season as well.

I have a light hookset so I don't get that kind of problem. I sure miss that light wire hook on the forage minnow jigs. Some of the Hali jigs I use have even smaller light wire hooks.

Northland is suppose to be top of the line when it comes to the simple jig.....Suprising to hear this, for I have never really had a problem. Maybe try Archie jigs less expensive, and in a lot of ways the same as a Northland jig

I've started to make my own jigs for open water fishing with my choice of hook brands. I wanted to try out some more difficult to make jigs, which is why I bought Northland. The specific jig that I had issues with was a 'thumper'.

I emailed Northland about the jigs a couple days ago and they got back to me this morning. They are going to replace my jigs. Makes me alot more confident in thier product and I know I will be a costumer for many years to come.

I had similar problems during the open water with their prodct....I just quite buying the same products. That being said, I love other stuff of theirs, so I'm still generally a fan. Not sure if it's just a bad batch of jigs or if it's a common problem...hoping for more feedback on this thread.
