Garmin lake chip?

I have a Garmin Dakota 20. I want to get a lake chip for Minnesota. Whats the best out there and where is the cheapest place to purchase it online?

Does the CDrom version have the best detail?

I fish out of state once a year so other area's isn't that important.

If you're looking for the MicroSD chip, you're going to have to look at retailers for that, I saw them at Scheels last week for $119, that's a premium price and I'm sure they can be found for less.

Lakemaster CD has been on closeout on Garmin site for at least a month for $49.00 plus shipping and tax, comes to just under $60.

The data on the chip and the cd are the same, the biggest difference is you can use the MicroSD chip in any Garmin that will accept the Lakemaster card, the CD can only be tied to one device ( maybe 2, I'm not sure on that ), buy a new GPS and you'll have to purchase another Lakemaster CD ( if they are still available ).

Hurry and get a LakeMaster microSD card while you can still get them. I just ordered one from Reeds, $89 + tax + shipping, ended up $105.

thanks for the info. The cdrom only working in one to two units concerns me. The lady I talked to at Garmin said it was a good way to go in the event I lost the gps I didn't loose lake data cause I could just put info on another chip. I wanted to use in my Nuvi also. Perhaps I will be sending chip back. Wish I could have gotten this info when I first put post up instead of after I ordred chip. lol oh well lesson learned.

I've got the CDROM. It's the same data. Also, there are lots of free maps available for Garmin units and the CDROM comes with the Mapsource program you can use to put these maps onto your GPS.
