If he doesnt get much bigger by next year Ill probably pass on him again. If I am seeing him regularly I will try and get a kid out to sit with me and see if they can get him. I would get more out of being with a youngster when they shot a deer like that than I would shooting it myself.

I tend to think 2.5 year old based upon overall body shape and composition. But in any event, I think he deserves a pass until next year (whether he is 2.5 of 3.5), and I'd re-evaluate next year. One thing that is often overlooked is that most deer will not reach their full potential until they are 5 or older. A deer like this could easily make a big jump from this year to two years down the road even if he doesn't make a huge jump next year.

P.S. - You also realize that on your facebook pictures, you have 2 different bucks (one has a small crab claw on the right side - the bigger deer has a straight 4 point side on the right). You probably know this, but I didn't see this pointed out earlier, so I figured I'd mention it in case you hadn't noticed.

Ya the little 7 point is definitly not getting shot this coming year. Gotta let em grow. I am getting to a point where I really enjoy watching the deer. As long as the state still has management and intensive harvest areas I can still fill the freezer and also wait for a big buck, Its really nice to have that option!
