insulated quick fish

Anyone ever tried spearing in an eskimo fatfish? The one I saw was insulated with black interior. I was wondering if the pinholes from sewing in the quilting let light in, also if the little bit of insulation makes much of a difference.

I know several guys that spear out of the regular Eskimo hub houses and don't have any trouble getting the fish to come in.

If I had the money I would buy one I crrety use a quickfish with a floor I made it works awesome n don't worry bout the sewing its fine their on sale right now for $200 but no $ for extra toys but ill wait n that will be my next portable darkhouse!

I saw them on sale for $239 (i think). where did you see them for 200?

I also wonder how much difference the insulation makes.

I saw the insulated fat fish on display at Thorne Bros and I think it will work for spearing. Hard to tell in a store though. Price (non-sale) I think was $270.

I checked FF tonight and they have the non-insulated FatFish for $200.

If you get one, let us know how it works. Like Laska, when my Quikfish III dies, i"ll probably upgrade to a Fatfish. If the pin holes are not an issue, I'd get the insulate model. I have an insulated clam fish house and the insulated fabric really makes a difference.

Thanks for the replies. I have not pulled the trigger on it yet, but have seen the insulated one for 239 on sale. Might be easier to keep hidden from my wife than another perm.

Laska, would you mind posting a pic of the floor you made. also does the qf3 have windows, and if so do you have to do anything else so light doesn't come in?

Does anyone have the link to my qf3 thread where my floor is posted I don't have pics anymore... windows aren't an issue either its plenty dark enough, used weather caulk in some of the thread seams works great otherwise I don't do anything to my qf3
