I don't have the AA suit,I have the Vexilar set, but I also leave my coat in the sled when I'm walking out. Ill be a sweaty mess by the time I get out there even in the coldest of temps with a jacket on. I also wear a life jacket out in anything under 12" of ice. and yes, wool is better than the synthetics for reasons already mentioned.

I didn't buy my AA suit to be used as a life jacket, but is a nice perk. I bought my suit for cold weather conditions. If it's too warm for the suit then leave it home and wear a life jacket. Keep the suit for the cold stuff. All equipment has pluses and minuses. And always wool underneath.

I had a local seamstress put 8 inch zip pits under the arms of my camo AA and that really ventilated my walk out. Especially if I Leave the front 1/4 zipped. Cost me 20 bucks. My previous Parka was a Columbia with zip pits and that managed the sweat well too. It's kind of funny to watch the steam pour out from the armpits on sub-zero days. The bibs stay unzipped until I feel the cold and then they're fine to zip up. Might get a bit damp but I've never ever been cold in them, even at -20. All works for me.

I don't get as sweaty as some of you beasts, my suit has the tricot lining maybe that helps, I'm always warm I just don't sweat much.

You could of saved yourselves alot of money by just dressing how you wanted and bought a cheap life jacket.

I love my AA suit so do all the friends I recommended them too.
