I would say voltage regulator, what is the model?

Plus 1. Little black box right under pull rope on the inside of the eng, compartment. It has only one wire on it so it's not hard to change out. I carry a spare because I know they go out and can't be without lights coming off a lake at night! frown

50 bucks.

If you use the aftermarket regulator, you may end up with severe handwarmer issues to the point of not being able to hang on to the handlebars because they are too hot, or not working at all. It doesnt always happen but it is common. I recommend using OEM because there is always no return policies on electrical.

bareback,

I called Tim at Cannon and he told me to try a few things such as check the ground, and then try while running when the lights are dim unplug the yellow wire if head lights get brighter then the ground is bad or the regulator may not have a good connection to the frame etc....to be continued.
