CodyDawg
I would love to see pictures of long rooster tails. I hear about 28", 30" tails, etc, but nobody ever has a picture to back up the claim. I am not saying anyone is lying, but I have never seen one and would like to. So if someone has a long tail....let's see them over 24".....please post them with a picture and have a tape measure in the photo for documentation. I have a hard time believing anything over 25" without a picture with the tape measure documenting it. So me being skeptical, prove me wrong!! CodyDawg
I measure that at a bit over 24". Very nice. I suspect, should we make this into a long tail CONTEST instead of just a thread, you would be toward the top. Very nice tail indeed, Congrats. MuleShack
Just read this in a PF article and thought it would add to the discussion. For those of you who wonder how a rooster comes by its magnificent or miserly tail, Bogenschutz said tail length is determined by a combination of genetics, nutrition, age and habitat where the bird lives. Moral of the story: Get out there and help establish more quality pheasant habitat by volunteering with your local Pheasants Forever chapter. brittman
Pull that baby straight and you should add at least another 1/4 inch or more. That bird must have looked huge.
pikeguy2003
Buddy of mine and a friend of his were hunting west of hutch two weekends ago. One rooster had tail feathers that were 25 1/4 and one of the other birds was 25 3/4. They are out there, but we just don't see them that often?
