Gas Auger Regulations?

Hello all, I'm thinking of trying a few smaller ponds/lakes this year near my area since one that I was told had no fish in it produced 12" crappies last year quite regularly. My question is how does one know if that bodu of water prohibits gas augers? Since they almost all don't have public landings there would be no signs to say whether they do or don't allow them. Is this something that would be on the DNR HSOforum under the lake map finder?

The only lakes that I know of that you can't use a power auger on are in the BWCAW.

I know there are some lakes South of me that don't allow outboards but I don't know if these would include gas augers.

If these potholes your referring to are surrounded by private land and no public access then I think your go to go with the gas auger.

Thanks guys. I kinda figured as much but just thought I's pick the brains of the gallery. It's outside the city limits so it'd be sheriffs. If they got out of the car I'd be surprised. A guy I was talking to asked me how do you know there's fish in there? I simply answered, I guess I wont know til I drill will I.

I'm with ST. The only lakes that I've ever heard of that ban gas augers are in the BWCA. Even the chain of lakes in the metro (Calhoun, Nokomis, etc) allow gas augers - they just don't allow any other gas motors.

Lake Maria, out west of the metro, has a ban on gas motors as well, and possibly electrics but I'm not sure about that.

lake sagatakan at st johns university west of st cloud is non motorized and posted to that effect at the landing which they allow people to use
