Raising Ringnecks & Chukar

Looking to raise 25-30 birds next spring, does anybody have any personal experience raising pheasants on a small scale like this? minimum flight pen size? any random info and tips help. ps not looking to propagate my land just amazing birds to watch year round and great eats w/o the lead shot. thanks everyone

20 years ago a friend tried it. One of the biggest issues was the birds pecking on each other and making a mess, killing each other. Then there was the weasel or whatever that got in and killed off a bunch. We want to work the dogs when the birds seemed old enough and they could fly about 50 feet before they tuckered out. Lots of screwing around for extremely little return and one season was enough.

I use to hatch and raise thousands of birds annually.

The pecking is easily solved. The weasel issue can also be solved. One of the biggest issues with controlling pecking is too many birds in too small of an area.
