On the inside of the recoil does anybody know how it goes back together? the spring came un done im not sure how its my cousins motor. Can anybody show me a picture of how the spring goes back together?

I found how it goes back together but how do you get the spring to coil up small enough to get it back in its holder? i cant seem to get it small enough any tricks?

I have found more often than not, once the recoil shoots out, it will not go back together. Maybe someone has a trick? I usually end up buying a new one. Its always easier just to thread the rope through without taking it apart. I have literally tried for hours, spring coils are a kind of one time deal.

Kind of hard to explain, but..... Hook the spring onto the tang in the cup and run the spring out through the slot. Put the other half of the cup on and wearing safety glasses and gloves that still give u dexterity, wind the cup so that it pulls the spring yin.

It takes a couple tries but all of these old recoils can be rewound. I have done a dozen or so of them for buddies and it only takes 10 to 15 minutes once you get it started correctly.
