I find a lot of these Montana moss agates in the Minnesota River Valley. I always thought it was amber until I got educated at the Moose Lake show. True amber is petrified sap but these sure look like amber to me.

I'll occasionally find what I thought were called black montana moss agates. What I look for in IDing those is those black snowflake like flecks in the stone. I also recently found out there is a honey agate that I have been mistaking as amber so check that out too.
