opsirc
a couple of weeks ago my son and I hit some nice crappies over behind some island on the back side of the lake. the last two trips to the same place has only gotten us one small one. we were in about 24 ft of water, next to a 35 ft hole. are they moving around alot this time of year, or is it just the weather that has them off the bite. would like to get a few more, but am puzzle by the lack of them. have not even see any on the marcum. any ideas?O
CrappieJohn
Craps will not move very much in the winter on a horizontal plane, but they will move if the forage base has moved. You may want to check atop of that shallower shelf by shooting thru the ice with your electronics. Fish need food regardless of it being a frozen world and the most common cause for a disappearing act is that the food has moved or has been depleted in the general area.
