Countertop Laminate

CAMAN

Recommended Posts

I need to find several sheets of commercial grade laminate. It will be installed on a concession stand so it needs to be durable. Any brands better? I see Wilsonart and Nevamar a lot in my searches, but I can't seem to find anything that distinguishes it as a heavier duty than any of the others.

Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

For a concession stand you will be fine with the standard laminate that distributors carry. I have done many commercial laminate jobs and have never used or had an architect or engineer specify anything other than the standard laminate.

Are you building countertops, casework, panels or something else? If you are building counters and don't want the chipping and delamination I would look at solid surface as an alternative. If you want to get into more detail let me know and I can forward my phone number to you.

As far as brands they all perform about the same but the new high definition laminates seem to be holding up better than the older finishes.

Thanks PF!

I'm actually just remodeling the existing counter-tops. They are made out of what looks to be solid oak and have a white laminate on them already. They are full of dings, scratches, and chips. So I plan on re-gluing any loose areas, filling all the bad areas with Bondo and covering everything with the new laminate.

I would love to do all solid surface but that just isn't in the budget, with about 200 square feet of counter space that would get kinda pricey.
