Technical Service Bulletins offline?

Recommended Posts

Only a year ago, I did a simple search for technical service bulletins on my Ford Ranger. Interestingly enough I noticed that there was a TSB for slow shifting transmission issue that I was having. I remember reading that it was a computer update that the dealership needed to do. Fast forward to this week and I finally have my appointment with the dealership. I went to print out the TSB to hand to them and I can't find it. I've found the bulletin but no websites that I could find would show the full bulletin. They are all just one or two sentence summaries and you have to ORDER the actual bulletin.

Am I crazy, lazy, or just to dumb to find this things online....or did the public use a handy tool due to greed?

That was it. Thanks! Of course, it still doesn't answer why an average Joe can't go to the NTSB HSOforum (or something similar) to find out about problems with the $xx,xxx vehicle they bought.

It's a 2007 Ranger and has been outstanding, except that every once in a while it shifted slow. It shifts so quietly that you normally can't tell when it's in gear or not. Therefore, I'd go from Park to Drive, or Reverse to Drive, and slightly step on the gas, the engine would rev, and then neutral drop. It happened again on the boat ramp on Sunday night and pi$$ed me off bad enough to finally get an appointment. Of course, Ford charges a $99 "diagnostic fee" no matter what. . .and they wonder why I haven't brought my truck to the dealership in years. Sheesh!
