Broken Transducer

Fishook

Question

The transducer on my Lowrance 520-C has broken where the bolt holding it in the bracket passes through the plastic. The only thing holding it is the wire itself. Not being one with any real technical skill (or knowledge), I am looking to learn what my options are here. It would appear fixing the problem by gluing or taping is not possible. Is replacing the transducer (only the broken piece) possible? I would think replacing the transducer and wiring is an option? I hope I am not looking at having to buy a whole new unit. I appreciate all suggestions and ideas as to how to fix the problem, what parts I need and where to get them. Thanks.

If you have enough plastic left on the neck of the transducer, you can drill a new hole and run the bolt through it. Of course, anything near the body of the transducer is a no-no.

I broke off a transducer near the bolt bracket for an Eagle 480 and was able to do this and it worked well for several years.

Your only other option is to try J-B weld or epoxy. With nothing to lose, it is worth a try.
