I know there have been a few posts on this already but none of them really give a good suggestion on what ones are quality and what ones are junk. I am looking at the sport dog sd1225. Its a 3/4 mile collar. I can get it for 179.99 through a discount I have. Its originally 239.99! Has anyone used this collar? What brands are decent and what brands should a guy stay away from?? thanks

I went through several Lovetts and a tri-tronics, but then bought a dogtra and it has lasted for many years. I think I am going on 8 years with it, same battery too. Not only do I use it hunting, I also use it almost every day when I run my dogs too. I would buy another dogtra if this one goes, no doubt.

TT and Dogtra the rest are junk, I'm partial to TT pro series because of the way the transmitter fits in your hand.

I had a TT Pro Series 200 for years, and now have a Dogtra. You can't go wrong with either brand.

I would stay away from Sportdog. I've had two and my buddy has had two. Both of ours have had problems. About the only reason we still have them is because they have excellent customer service. Both our collars have bene repaired under warrenty and had the batteries replaced.

With my new dog I will be buying a different brand.
