Bait and license near Emo??

Recommended Posts

Heading up to the Clearwater-Pipestone chain to fish on Fri late afternoon thru the weekend. Last year we got there about 4:30, and the store on the lake was closed-- no where to buy a license. I usually cross at I-Falls, but have gone through Baudette, too. Is there is good spot to get bait and licenses in these areas? We stopped at a Bar that had a sign that said "Minnows" last year. They gave us quite a look when we asked for bait.

Thanks for the help. We did ok on walleyes last year. Anyone had any luck lately? Thanks, Sam

You can find bait and licenses in Fort Frances, just after you cross the border at, I think I got the name right, Rainy Lake Sports. They are likely open till 8:00 or 9:00. It's just East on 11. If not, Emo does have a hardware store that sells licenses and maybe bait that has to be open till 5 or 6.

Village Variety in Emo sells bait and licenses. They are on the left side of the road when heading West. The grocery store (Cloverleaf) also sells licenses. The store (Sportsman's Landing) on Clearwater Lake decided earlier this year not to sell fishing licenses. The walleye bite has been good even with the colder weather.
