Eckie
Thanks to Otterman's recent post that he's thinking about a new snowblower already. It reminded me that I need to do some repairs to mine soon!I have an 7-8 year old 8 HP MTD that I think I need a new bearing(?) kit for the auger. On one side, the auger is "hanging" on inside the side-wall. The other side is attached as it's supposed to be, which I assume is with a bearing/bushing kit.Question --- I live in Maple Grove -- is there a place in the north metro that I can buy the parts? I know, I could purchase online, but in doing much research on finding these parts, I'm finding that MTD (along with many other brands) changed design over and over through the years and I'm not confident in exactly what I need, based on the online illustrations. Plus, my serial number on the back of the machine is illegible. I'm thinking by taking it to someone that "knows", would be able to help me eliminate buying the wrong parts. I have no issues taking it apart and fixing it myself, once I have the right parts. Thanks, in advance!!
RebelSS
I ordered the same parts for my 10 yr old MTD. Numbers are still good. Think your part you need are referred to as "bushings". Any one that fixes small engines can order them.

Tom7227
Do the google and you'll come up with a number of places. I cant remember the specific address but there was some Jack place that has a lot of stuff. It was jackparts.com or something with jack in it. Quick to find the stuff, quick to get it. Eckie
Most places I called, including those referenced weren't much help without the model/serial numbers (I didn't expect them to be either)...so yesterday I called MTD. The rep was really nice and patient and together we figured out what parts I needed and I was able to order them directly from her. They should be at my house next week. Thanks again for the assistance!
