Strange boat on the Mississippi River

The illusion is produced by towing a 17′x25′ video screen placed on barge at night. The darkness will conceal the tow boat and barge, while the projected video of a white horse will appear to gallop on the surface of the river.

It looks like a large john boat of some sorts, I used to work on the barges in Minneapolis and that particular craft is not large enough to be a full sized barge. With that being said it could be a "barge" work platform but I have never seen a self propelled work platform either. The lights on the front of it do suggest that it's a square front.

Just an update, I shot a quick email over to Ms. Stanislav and she more or less confirmed that boat is her art project.

I read briefly that the screen got fried on the first run, complete with expectant audience. I felt pretty bad about that, and I'm glad to see that she's got it sorted out.

I do hope that there were more people to see the performance(?) than just bobbymalone... I mean, talk about pearls before swine! Sheesh!

When I first saw the boat, it was heading up river and the screen was facing the opposite shore. I thought it was some sort of giant floodlight because it really light up the shore. It blasted some kids fishing and they started cheering and the cameras came up, so I knew it was weirder than it already looked. Then it came back down the river and I thought it was people dancing on the screen until it got closer. Had to wake the wife up for that --- it's probably a good thing there isn't sound on the video.
