smeese
Are there any options of making my long shaft a short shaft? I want to keep it as a Kicker but it is too long for my boat and what I want to use it for. I know this sounds like a project for someone??? Any one care to enlighten me with options? amateurfishing
got a really good deal on a 15 hp long shaft that was too long for my boat, after calling 3 places and getting quotes of round $250, decided was not worth the hassle and just resold motor. Ufatz
Unfortunately Smeese, your project is impractical for a variety of reasons. Guess you're going to have to do like our colleague and sell the motor. Or build your transom up reeeaaaalllll high.
marine_man
What year is it?Some of the older smaller hp motors had extension kits that bolted between the lower unit and the mid section to make a long shaft a short shaft. Take a look to see if you do.. I'm guessing not.marine_man

I'm guessing not.marine_man that is exactly what i had & still not worth messin around with, i bought the motor for 300 & sold it for 600. it was not worh giving a mechanic 250-300 for turning it into a short shaft, just better off reselling & getting what you need imo.
