rumeye
When can I seeding in new grass. I have a spot about 15 ft square that is all prepped with black dirt in early July but was way to hot out then. What is the right time in the fall to do this? Gordie
I would seed now hopefully you got some of the rain last night and that will help alot. You should see grass in about 7-10 days from when you seed
lovetoicefish
I am planning the same but basically over-seeding areas that appear to be dead. I do I go about preparing the spots? My plans are to thatch the areas real good, spread some good black dirt and seed, spread some fertilizer, and water as needed. If I should do something else please let me know. Thanks! hotrod1
I would get a core aerifier to do your dethatching. Aerify wherever you plan to seed realy good. Let the plugs dry just a bit. Broadcast the seed where you want. Then get some kind of drag (section of chain link fence works well) and drag over the plugs. It should bust the plugs up and drag seed into the holes. Then apply your fertilizer. This way you can skip the black dirt.
