Maxxed Out
I get out plenty old timer. Yes scouting and being in a place ducks or geese want to be is important. However, I have yet to talk a waterfowler that was telling the truth that hunted on the X every day of the year.
Muthagoose
Exactly Max.Nobodys on the X everyday. Which is why a good waterfowler knows his birds and how to draw them. That comes in time, learning each species little quirks.. Ive gone more the direction as Strait put it less is more. Which is why I carve and flock floaters trying to not look cookie cutter.
TylerS
I gotta say, I'd take a dozen of Muthagoose's masterpieces over a thousand commercial dekes. Quality over quantity... Speaking of, hey Mutha, you ever think of sculpting a super-lifelike spinner? Could break into a niche market
Muthagoose
Thanks for the kind words Tyler... Funny you should mention spinners, considered a option with someone this last spring and we were going over it again just recently..
icecold
I hunt the minnesota river alot and I only use 2 dozen decoys and a couple goose decoys, I set up with 2 goose decoys about a block downstream from my blind and then work up stream with a few more decoys closer to my blind then about a dozen decoys upstream, seems to suck the ducks right in, have been doing this for about 35 years, seems to work, Only a few weeks till opener, getting pretty excited to get in the blind with the 2 boys. Everyone have a safe season
