Importance of Decoys?

Recommended Posts

Exactly Max.Nobodys on the X everyday. Which is why a good waterfowler knows his birds and how to draw them. That comes in time, learning each species little quirks..

Ive gone more the direction as Strait put it less is more. Which is why I carve and flock floaters trying to not look cookie cutter.

I gotta say, I'd take a dozen of Muthagoose's masterpieces over a thousand commercial dekes. Quality over quantity...

Speaking of, hey Mutha, you ever think of sculpting a super-lifelike spinner? Could break into a niche market wink

I hunt the minnesota river alot and I only use 2 dozen decoys and a couple goose decoys, I set up with 2 goose decoys about a block downstream from my blind and then work up stream with a few more decoys closer to my blind then about a dozen decoys upstream, seems to suck the ducks right in, have been doing this for about 35 years, seems to work, Only a few weeks till opener, getting pretty excited to get in the blind with the 2 boys. Everyone have a safe season
