Adjusting headlights on 2011 F150

Recommended Posts

I will ask this question but to those that are in the automotive repair business I fully understand if you are apprehensive about answering in the name of professional courtesy.

I would like to lower the angle of the headlights on my 2011 F150 Lariat. They are fine under most conditions but if I add much weight at all to the box such as putting my ATV in there, the weight apparently changes the angle just enough that my low beams are bothersome to approaching traffic. Now, I've never had trouble finding the adjustment screws for this in the past but I have been unable to find them on this truck. Can anyone help me out? Perhaps some photos would be helpful.

I just want to lower them a couple degrees.

Thanks a heap.

the only adjustment skrew is near the inner mounting bolt when looking from the top of the headlamp assembly. sorry I cannot post a picture. I would say load it up then bring it to a dealer... just my opinion. but honestly how often do you drive the truck this heavy?

Thanks. I'll try looking more closely. The thing is that it doesn't seem to take much. Like I said, putting the ATV (600#) in the box is enough to cause people to flash at me. Six hundred pounds is basically three adults you know. Even putting the boat on the hitch is enough. That's why I figure they're adjusted just too close to the edge and it probably won't take more than a degree or two change to eliminate the problem.

IF it still has a warranty you can bring it in, If its a good dealer they should at least check it for you... Throw the wheeler in when you take it in maybe? Or at least give them a jingle, It dosn't hurt to ask right?
