House Shaking!!!

well if it vibrated the vice grips off the line you know its water! Sounds like you got your problem solved.

my neighbor tells me last night that his house there doors have been mysteriously opened, and lights turned on when they had them shut off and the best of all their box fan was running with out it plugged in!

Well the poltergeist may be gone. I flew back into town last night, and my first task (after my wife handed me a beer upon walking in the door) was to change the guts of both toilets. I also balanced wrenches on a bunch of different pipes last night. The result: no house shaking in the middle of the night. It'll take a few more nights to verify, but hopefully the toilets were the culprits!

So all those kids in the movies needed to do, instead of digging up pet cemetery, or running though woods, or hiding is dark hospitals... was to change the guts of toilets?!?!? Wow! If they knew, there would be many less slashed up teenagers wink

Might want to ask the city what your water pressure is. Might need to put in a Pressure Reducing Valve right after your water meter. You don't happen to live on the east sdie of Woodbury or else in St. louis Park, do you? These cities have some areas of extremely high water pressure. Enough to blow some faucets apart.

Went away for the weekend and turned off the water. No problems again last night. I'll use the hot water extensively tonight to make sure that I've tested everything. Hopefully the toilets were the problem.

Nope - I live in Richfield in a typical 1950s rambler. However, this place has LOTS of water pressure so I might have to consider something to reduce that.
