mww24
Just going to throw this out there. I was wondering if anyone had a yamaha 13.25 by 21 or 23 pitch prop for a 130hp or less motor? I want to try one on my boat but really don't want to shell out 400 bucks and have the possibility to not see enough gain. Or does anyone know if any dealer or shop has test props or anything? I want to squeeze some more performance out of my rig. I just don't want to waste money. Thanks
swampbuck
Brainerd propellers across from the BIR raceway will let you try before you by give them a shout he has a ton of props and will help you find what you need
Larson15
Try Supreme Marine they have a bunch. I think they charge $25 to demo Have you tried a Laser II?
mww24
I haven't tried anything yet larson. I run 47.5 to 48 in the cooler weather and 46 to 47 in hot humid weather. I've been reading on BBC that guys are hitting 50+ with a merc 125. I'm running a 130 yamaha. I bought it with a 13.25 18 pitch 4 blade stainless. I hit 5900 to 6000 rpms just fine. just starting with what a guy had recommended to me. I'm still a rookie to the whole set-up game. Also trying to find a 5 or 6 inch plate to put on. My boat also performs best at 5 to 6 inches below pad though. Any higher and you start to lose apparantley.Where is supreme marine located? Brainerd is a journey for me. Larson15
Supreme is in Minneapolis. I know the laser works really well on the Merc 125. I would try a 21-23p laser. The 4 blade is definitely hurting the top end on that boat.
mww24
Yeah. I'm going to hang onto the 4 for when i fish the big lakes to get the extra bite. I just know I can run 50+ if i get the right prop and weight distribution
