Boogered up computer directory

Tom7227

Question

Through some sort of foolishness I managed to screw up the stuff on my computer and now I seem to have multiple copies of stuff. Anyone know of some sort of process that would put things back in order? Some of the problem is that part of it is stuff that I put on an external hard drive for backup so I can't just say for instance "delete the file bass fishing" cause I want to delete duplicate documents.

Thanks for your help.

Tom

Not quite sure if this is the kind of help you are looking for but you could hold down the Ctrl key while you left click with the mouse and highlight all of the folders you want to delete and then right click with the mouse and select delete.

Guess I am not being clear. I have two copies of my directory. One is stuff from say 1995 to 2005 and the other one has stuff from 2004 to today. I want to meld them together and have one directory that has the stuff from 1995 to today. There are thousands of docs and so I'm looking for some software that will shuffle things together automatically.
