prov1900
Since there is a thread on electrics, and I have a Big Chief, I was considering going to a propane style smoker, specifically the Camp Chef model. It seems to be priced right and CC seems to have some good stuff already. Anyone use one? I guess I have always heard that with lp versions, it is difficult to keep the heat down. My usage would be from salmon to pork butts, so anything and everything.
hockeybc69
My dad had a propane one, and it was a pain if the wind was blowing at all. The burner would blow out, so we would have to construct plywood around it to keep wind off of it. I dont recall the brand, but he ended up selling it on a-sales-site. Deitz Dittrich
I have 2, a smokehouse and a Browning.. The browning is a much better built unit, however it also was double the price.. regulating heat is the only real issue. It sometimes can creap up on you if your not paying attention as the meat gets warmer. So its not something you can really set and forget.Other than that, love both, get a great smoke..
