Redwood Falls Area Lakes

You are 60 minutes from fishable lakes with the exception of two prairie lakes which can be good early in the year. The Minn. River though is excellent all year normally. This year its hard to get to without a boat due to high water levels.

Welcome to Redwood.

I grew up in Brown county. Not too many lakes around your area there by RWF. Like a couple already said. (Minnesota River). It can be excellent. You can get into fishing from shore in a few spots and target channel and flathead Catfish. My personal best came in 1992 and was a 44 pound flatty. Had a few channels in the low teens too. Also could target walleyes, White bass etc. The river has fantasic variety really. Sturgen, Pike, Saugers, Suckers, Carp, Mooneyes, Gar... you never really know what you'll get. Water is really high this year though. If you do want lakes to fish like you said in your post you'll prob have to cruz up to willmar / spicer area. Good luck.
