garage walls

I am going to put the old cabinets up in the garage and would like to do soemthing with the walls before I do so. The house is 50 years old and the walls are block all the way up and partially under grade. Any advantage to one product over the other? Menards has some foundation coating by Grayshield and the other option is simply painting it with a quality masonry paint. I know the foundation coating is for outside but just was wondering if it would be the better choice for my setup. Moisture isn't a big issue and I know neither would be a total solution to any moisture problems.

Ovethe years I have had good luck with Thoroseal as long as there are no active cracks. Here is their Product Data Sheet http://www.brockwhite.com/files/Resource/Prod_Data/0992006PD.pdf You can get it at Brock White and probably at other contractor supply houses. I doubt you will find it at Menards and the like.

I went there the other day and an older gentleman at the service desk suggested using Thorocoat and a 5 gallon pail cost $157. For my area that ends up being a tad more expensive than the Thoroseal. I get more coverage out of the 5 gallon pail so I will end up having to do at least part of another wall. No biggie and I have confidence that this product will work well for me.
