MMO's...

Probably a silly question to ask on this board.. but maybe just maybe some of the members here are closeted MMO geeks.. So what's your poison? WarCrack? EVE? Guild Wars? Rift? DC Universe? Runescape?

After a couple years break from the MMO world.. I got sucked back in.. This time it's Rift.. and so far it's a pretty awesome game.. you're able to pick up different "souls" which allows you to change between different types of your class.. right now i have a mage.. he can be an elementist/pyro/stormcaller.. or i can switch his soul and he can be a necromancer.. or he can just be a pyro.. or he can be a dominator.. the other thing I like about Rift is unlike WC.. there is a storyline that makes sense and you accomplish things! unlike WC where you just run random quests that dont tie into anything.. and sooner or later you just become bored and try to make as much gold as possible

Ultima Online 1998-2007. Best MMO there ever was.

I also played Vendetta Online for a couple years, extremely fun and could have been HUGE with the right promotion. Too bad it's run by just a couple guys.

My now 17 year old nephew was addicted to Runescape a few years ago. My sister or brother in law would hear something at 2-3-4 am and there he would be, on the computer, mostly on school nights.

man.. i remember playing runescape.. was the first mmo i ever played.. cannot believe that game has lasted for so long

I've been into various versions and flavors over the years.

Currently, trying out the new free worldoftanks game.

Start with a wimpy WW1 tank and work your way up, by buying and upgrading tanks all that to Post-WWII stuff.

I have been playing WOW since Alpha and just pulled the plug last week as it's just got plain ol boring for me (aka Too Easy), preferred the old days where it was actually a challenge to win. Now, everything including gear is just a matter of grinding and no fun.

So, I switched to Rift. So far I'm enjoying it. Had a few guild members follow suit and we headed Shadefallen for the moment. From the looks of it, I may stay put here for awhile. I gave up a very expensive WOW acct, which may still net me some big money if I were to sell it but I'll wait till after I reach end game content in Rift.

Names Raingoro if anyone ventures onto Shadefallen server.

Guild Wars was a lot of fun...killed WAY too many ours on that a few years back.

I played a little GW's too with some friends. Wasn't too bad, I enjoyed running the dungeons with just my 55 monk or farming high end items with my dervish. I'm honestly awaiting GW2, thinking that might be the bread n butter.
