Saw my first brood of young pheasants Tuesday morning in Nobles county. A hen with three chicks about the size of a hun partridge. Saw my first brood last year on June 10. I'm betting the roadside counts are going to be real ugly here in the southwest corner. Anybody else see anything?

Yeah, I seen 2 different bunches down by Bigelow and there was 8 young ones in one bunch and 6 in the other bunch all about the size of a small partridge. I saw another bunch by Round Lake the other day and it had 2 bigger ones and 7 real small ones.

agreed, damp and cool June will for sure produce low road count numbers I am sure. But they are getting a great go at it here to start July. Remember pheasants are very very persistent and will work diligently to assure a nest.
