dfv87
I am not a grill master by any stretch of the imagination...But I need to buy a new gas grill and was looking at the combo gas/charcoal grill/smokers, anybody have any input on these? I have not done a smoker in the last but would be interested if I had the stuff to at least try. The combos are close to the same price as a medium priced gas grill, I even found one with a side burner, which I must have...I need a gas one for several reasons...1. side burner 2. Speed, my schedule sometimes means we need to cook right away and not wait for coals...3. Shut down, with little kids I like to be able to turn off the heat and have a grill not HOT in a short time period.4. I am more comfortable with a gas one. hookjunior
I received a Brinkman combo grill for fathers day that came from home depot. It has a three burner gas grill, charcoal grill, side firebox, and a side burner. So far I am very impressed with this grill, especially for the cost. The gas side will maintain a pretty low temp nicely and it gets very hot for searing. This is my first experience with a charcoal grill but so far I have made ribs a couple times and made four pork shoulders this weekend for a birthday party. So far I haven't had trouble maintaining a steady temp with the firebox for long periods of time. If a side burner is something that's important to you this grill has the best one I've ever had a grill, it gets very hot.
