Which depth finder

Looking to spend about $700-800 on a depth finder. Anybody have great recomemmendations?

I have Humminbird 780ci that works well and is very easy to use. I believe evry brand out there is probably equal.

I put a Humminbird 596c HD DI in the boat this year and love it. It doesn't have GPS on it, but I took the $$ saved from the 596ci model and purchased a Garmin nuvi on sale and downloaded the Lakemaster maps to that instead. All said, I have a nice sonar/down imaging unit in the boat, and a GPS with Lakemaster that I can use year round for right around your $800 limit.

+1. What he said. I also run a 597 ci DI combo. If/when I upgrade, I'll probably go to the larger screen 898 or 1198. Several options, but you need to determine if you want down imaging and/or GPS.

Keep in mind that any kind of GPS-enable fishfinder will need a separate SD card with map data to really shine. That can set you back anywhere from $80-$100+ in addition to the initial cost of the unit.
