so on may days off we decided to hit the local butt hole and ended up with out limit of halibut. had a great day with every one catching atleast 8 halibut. and we all ended up with our limits of 2 a person after throwing a few back. nothing mosterous with most being chickens but the eat teh best any ways. we also got some crab bait cod fathers. i had one on that broke the line and a skate up to the top that broke the line wchich i never saw. coolest thing was we used some reels that were electric and all you did was push a lever and it cranked up the line by its self all you had to do washold on to the rod. to most people that sounds like cheating but once you reel up 3 or 4 halibut that are 250 feet down you are more then glad to hit the switch. first half of the trip i didnt use the auto reel then i tried and of course the first fish i had on was a biggun and i hit the switch got it half way up and it broke the 80lb braided line. had one other monster skate that broke the line. all in all great trip that ended me up with a hole ton of butt meat.. if you have not been up here you better make the trip cause its worth it. Before i went to school up here i would never in my life think i would have all of this in my back yard.... you guys can have the walleyes and pan fish i will stick with my alaska butt.
