Last Minute Vacation Rentals

Hey guys, our family is looking for a last minute rental for about a week somewhere "Up North". Generally, I would consider "up north" to be anywhere Brainerd and north. We tend to rent somewhat up-scale homes on lakes in touristy areas. Does anyone have any recommendations with people that might have something that will have openings starting Thursday or Friday until sometime next week. The home must sleep five adults and have some amenities. Might be a tall order here, but we've had decent luck in the past few years finding last minute deals.

Try vrbo dot com. It is (vacation rentals by owner) site for rental homes all over the nation. They also have great deals for last minute reservations. Something like 50% off.

VRBO is my go to place... this year I've just not had much luck. Granted, finding a place last minute generally sucks, and on holiday weekends, it's even worse.

Matt - Unfortunately, Appledorns doesn't have availability according to their HSOforum. It looked like a place that probably would have worked too.

Might click on the regional forum that interests you and look towards the top of the forum to see if there is a want ads section. I see that Vermilion forum ads has a couple of older ads for rentals.
