Lakeshore Erosion

Fighting the War of Waves

Wednesday, June 22, 2011

7:00 p.m.

Lakeside Ballroom

Glenwood, Minnesota

Tremendous amounts of snow and rain have produced lake levels that are well above the ordinary high water mark. This excessive amount of water combined with strong winds has damaged many structures and lakeshore while showing no immediate relief in the foreseeable future.

A panel of experts has been assembled to provide answers on how to minimize the erosion that’s occurring on our lakes. Our goal is to provide the audience with information to make the best decisions for lakeshore property protection. Anyone is welcome to attend and the admission is free.

Presentations to be provided by:

Steve Klein, PE - Vice President/Senior Civil Engineer, Barr Engineering (Minneapolis)

Janell Miersch, Hydrologist, MN DNR-Waters Division (Fergus Falls)

Pope County Land & Resource Management staff

Refreshments will be served!
