Can anyone tell me what lure this is?

Gopher_Guy

Question

My dad thinks it's something he used back in the 70s or even maybe the 60s. I have no idea, I can't imagine it's worth anything but digging through these old lures is kind of neat. I'd just like to know what it is. It's a wooden propeller bait. It has no markings to identify what it is or who made it.

A Heddon lure would have a stamp / print on it I believe. Hooks look small and fairly new to me. Might be something homemade. I'd guess it's not too old.

Just my opinion. If you find out for sure, let us know.

Several companies made similar lures.

Creek Chub had their "injured minnow"

South Bend had the "wounded minnow", "surf oreno" and "spin-i-diddee"

Heddon had the "torpedo" and "tiny torpedo", but they also manufactured double prop lures for other companies, so it may not be marked as Heddon.

I'm no expert, but I think it looks like a South Bend lure.

Thanks Greybeard I think you nailed it. After reading your post I did a search on feebay for "South Bend Lure" and managed to find lures that look exactly like it, same double hook instead of a true treble hook and everything. And you appear to be correct that it's a Spin-i-diddee.

Thanks for the help everyone.
