lead core

I am getting into trolling lead core and have just been using my dads old set up. Was looking at buying my own but not sure what to get. I wasn't looking to spend much more than 150. Any advice on a reel and rod would be great.

Do a search in the walleye forum as there have been several threads on this. I'm partial to penn 320 gti or daiwa sealine 47lc reels for leadcore. Lots of good leadcore rods out there by limit creek, cabelas, scheels and others.

I have a Jason Mitchrel trolling rod with a Penn 320gti and have about $135.00 in it. I got the reel on e bay. Thats less the line. Good set up.

I also have a Cabelas trolling rod with a Penn 320gti and have approx $120.00 in it less the line.

I have heard others talk highly of the Limit Creek line also.

For the dollars you are looking at spending, you should be able to get a nice set up.

Im using Diawa Sealine 47's but the Accudepth would work good as well. Im using Limit Creek Leadcore rods. After using a few different rods for my leadcore I found these to be the best bang for the buck. I have 2 of the 5' "shortie" leadcore and 2 of the 8'3" telescoping leadcore rods and Im very impressed with them. I wouldnt hesitate to get more if I ever need them.
