Granite Install ??

Starting to install my granite countertops and was wondering if I should put down some 1/2 plywood then the granite, or just let it rest on the cabinets. The shop said they just rest it on the cabinet but I have a very slight interference with the dishwasher and the granite. Where the plywood would bring everything up. Also when you epoxy it together, do you just wipe the excess off or let it dry and "scrape" it off with a blade.

Thanks so much!!!!

if you put a piece of plywood down that you will see it i would put some shims in any voids that span an openings. cut them flush with the cabinets and put a bead of silicone between the top and cabinets. as for the epoxy i would put tape on both sides of the seam fill the void pull the tape and wait till it harden some and then scrape the excess off.
