Jarrod32
Spent the day fishing Roy Lake today. Worked the 'normal' structure that would be obvious looking at a fishing map...jigged some, rigged some, pulled crankbaits. All methods took northerns...we did pick up a few walleye toward evening, only a couple large enough to keep (15" minimum on Roy Lake). One of the highlights...my buddy Rich caught a nice smallie. This one went about 19".
carpshooterdeluxe
fishing for walleye and only got 1 smallmouth? Last time I fished that lake for walleye I couldn't keep the bass off the leaches!
curtistodd
The saturday before memorial day we got some nice smallies on roy casting husky jerks and x-raps in shallow water. Havent tried leeches. I would use heavy line or leaders, because the pike bite the plugs off alot.
Jarrod32
Yeah...we lost more than a couple lures to the northerns. It was the northerns - and not the bass - that we couldn't seem to keep off the baits. The bass in the photo is the only one we caught. rattleL
How big did the pike average
Jarrod32
Big deviation among the pike. We caught a few hammer handles, a couple that went around 27" and about everything in between.
