walleye possession limit question

So the regs say only 1 walleye over 20" on possession. If I just left my 8 1/2 lb 26" walleye at the Taxidermist does that count as my 1 ?

That is a daily possetion limit, you would be allowed 1 over 20" tomorrow for a combined limit.

I'm pretty sure that for fish the daily limit is the possession limit except for perch. Just call the DNR and ask.

I would think once you bring a fish to the taxidermist it would be considered the same as if you ate it. Otherwise everyone with mounted fish would have to take those off your possession limit.

Right, I'm not EXACTLY sure where the mounted fish gets taken off of the posession number but I'd feel comfortable with the moment it gets in the taxidermist hands.

I have been told that if the fish is at the taxidermist but they have not started working on it[still in the freezer] it still counts as in your possesion[your 1 over 20"]. Once they actually start to do the work than it is considered a mount and it is does not count toward your 1 over 20".
