spooling new line vs recycling

Monday night I began the process of cleaning up my baitcasters. I have 12 but really only use 9 of them. I know its not alot but 9 is enough for me and how I fish as I also usually will have 2 spinning set ups with. Anyway, rather than going out and buying 9 + new spools of power pro and flouro, I decided to run out all my braid and then put it on backwards. I'm ashamed that I haven't done this before. I only did 4 set ups monday night but I will be doing a couple more within the next couple nights. I do have 4-5 new spools of power pro and 2 new spools of Flouro that I do want to put on a couple set ups but I'm very happy with recycling that line. Not a huge tip for most on the site I'm sure, but given the time of year I'm thinking alot of people could benefit from this tip. My wife happened to be outside with me and I think I scored some points after I told her what I was doing and how much 9-12 new spools would cost....

That's always a good idea, and a nice tip!

As far as I can tell, braid lasts forever. I've used the same line on a few reels for 3-4 years without even reversing it.

Basically I leave a spool of braid on my reel until I want to go to a different test, or I want to try a new brand. I do alot of bass and saltwater fishing so my lines see some tough cover, but they always hold up.
