herm
Short story: This marks Week 6 since lab had TPLO surgery. First "post-surgical complication" came at Week 3 in form of "broken tibial crest." Vet said it happens in 5% of cases. (On par with my luck.) Now, 3 weeks later, progress is minimal so I went in again. This time vet ID'd one of screws is working itself loose. Needs outpatient surgery to reposition. What would your attitude be about this experience? Also, not to be a cheapskate, but what would you expect to pay (if anything) for this procedure? Of course, I'm having it done, but, geez, this is getting frustrating. Not what I expected at all...and I'm not even the one being poked/prodded and still limping. PartyWhine
Needs outpatient surgery to reposition. By "reposition" do they mean "re-tighten" or "remove and relocate" ?That would make all the difference to me.
herm
"Remove and relocate" would be the best description. Vet said it can't be retightened effectively in existing location.
PartyWhine
I'd be very concerned .... and I'd have a slew of questions.Has the week 3 crack extended to this anchor point ?Will it spread to a new anchor point ?Hope it works out.
