throttle cable issue/not getting full rpms

I have a 1997 Merc 175 EFI, had my throttle cables replaced by at a certain marina in WBL last fall, this spring I'm topping out about 1000rpms low and 10 mph slow. Basically I'm running out of room to throttle the remote forward before I can reach max rpms/speed.

My manuals for the motor and remote throttle don't show me how I can adjust to get more room for the cables to tighten and get my max rpms. I'd like to avoid taking the boat back in if possible cause I don't like the way these guys do business and it seems like an easy thing to adjust. Anyone have any experience with these?

Pop the hood and look on the starboard side of the motor, near the pan of the lower cowl. You should see two cables.. one that operates the forward / neutral / reverse mechanism and another that operates the throttle. Have someone actuate the control box and make sure you're getting full stroke out of the control box first. If so, take a look at the mechanism for the throttle.. it's pretty straightforward and requires adjusting the trunnion nut until you get the throttle range you're looking for. Make sure it goes from full idle to full throttle.
