Looking for resort

I'm sure there are a few who could chime in for the Alex area. I stayed at Arrowwood Resort in Alex. It's a resort/hotel type. Lots of activities to do on the property. They are on a golf course, also have 2 9-hole executive putting greens, bikes, tennis, pools(in/out), bar, wave runner/boat rentals, water slide park. Resort is located on Lake Darling. I've done pretty good fishing bass there. You can walk around their dock and see some biggies swimming around. Several other lakes nearby that I've heard but haven't fished are really good bass lakes like Miltona. In Spicer, there's Green lake and Ness lake. If it's windy go to Ness. Green is shaped like Mille Lacs, so if there's a good wind it makes fishing tough. Stayed at hotel instead of a resort. In Park Rapids Potato Lake is a good fishery both large/smallmouth. Here I stayed at Vagabond campground. Fun lake to fish. In Ely, Shagawa Lake located in town has good smallie action. I've stayed at 2 resorts and a hotel in town. Lots of areas to fish up there. All in all, if you don't mind trailering and traveling to nearby lakes from where you stay you can get on some nice bass lakes. That's what I did in many places. If you are looking for a place with many activities other than fishing I would say Arrowwood. These are my experiences. Like I said earlier, sure there are others(like Wayne Ek) who can give more info.if you want to stay around the Alex. area.
