how to remove ford radiator fan?

im in the process of putting electric radiator fans in my 99 f150 and im stumped on how to hold the pulley to remove the fan? i was thinking of big wrench and using that to hold it.. any ideas?

They make special tool for that. Or you can use a hammer and chiesel. Leave the belt on, make sure you hit it the right way. You may have left handed threads. If you have an air chiesel it is even easier. Once it breaks lose, it should spin off by hand.

One of the better investment I have made. This tool attaches to the air hammer and blasts the radiator fans off in no time without damaging the nut. Get a little happy with a air hammer and punch on the end of the nut closest to the pulley and you'll never get the fan off!
